Grants through the St. Francis Xavier Fund (SFX) are available to a select group of parishes that fit the mission of the fund.
The St. Francis Xavier Fund provides resources–both financial and human–to partner with pastors to build long-term sustainable parishes in the Diocese of Bridgeport. It strives to alleviate the financial burdens of urban churches that exhibit strong leadership, are pastorally vibrant, and reflect outstanding missionary outreach. The goal is to empower pastors to focus on nurturing and growing their ministries and furthering the work of evangelization and renewal, while ensuring that facilities are functioning to meet the future needs of the parish.
In the beginning of the year, pastors receive notice of their parish’s eligibility for SFX support. If you are one of these parishes and would like to apply for a grant, read on.
First, contact Kelly Weldon at kelly.weldon@foundationsinfaith.org to confirm your parish’s eligibility and determine project alignment with an SFX grant.
To apply, you must create an account here: https://www.foundationsinfaith.org/grant-applicant-login/
These credentials will be used to log into the Grant Application Dashboard from where you will submit the appropriate application and, if approved, subsequently submit the necessary progress reports.
If you already have a Grant Applicant account, please login using your credentials.
If you need assistance logging in, please email cschirm@foundationsinfaith.org.
Once logged into the Grant Applicant Dashboard, you will select “Apply” under SFX GRANTS FOR MISSIONARY PARISHES.
Your application will be reviewed and you will receive an email when it is approved.
Funds will be transferred to your parish account and you will be notified.
After the completion of the project, you will return to the Grant Applicant Dashboard and submit a Final Report.
For assistance with any aspect of this process, please don’t hesitate to contact Carol Incarnacao-Schirm, Grants Manager at cschirm@foundationsinfaith.org.
